Supplier of the Year 2013 Award for air intake systems reflects strong commitment to innovation, quality, service levels and competitiveness.

Guyancourt, April 11, 2014 – Sogefi's exceptional performance in terms of innovation, product quality and service has once again been affirmed; this time through the accolade of Supplier of the Year 2013 made by General Motors to Sogefi Engine Systems.

Now in their 22nd year, these awards are reserved for suppliers able to guarantee innovative technologies, superior quality, excellent levels of service and competitive solutions. Fewer than one in every hundred suppliers achieve such recognition.

The award, in the air intake systems category, was delivered directly to Sogefi Group CEO Guglielmo Fiocchi by Mary Barra, the US manufacturer's new CEO, at a ceremony held in Detroit on 12 March. General Motors said the award reflected Sogefi's solid contribution to helping it design, build and sell the best vehicles to the world.

During the ceremony Guglielmo Fiocchi said Sogefi was extremely pleased to have been able to supply winning solutions in response to the needs of General Motors. "This prize is not a finishing point, it’s recognition of a job well done," he said. "Above all, it’s a demonstration of our abilities when we all work together with passion, method and competence."

The ability to deliver at the OEM level is also reflected in Sogefi's leading position as a supplier of aftermarket air, cabin air, oil and fuel filtration components. As Andrea Taschini, General Manager of Sogefi's Aftermarket Business Unit, points out: "Our engineers have repeatedly proven that Sogefi’s advanced filter technologies are first choice for global operating OEMs. All of our IAM products are made to exactly the same specifications as the original OE products. So in terms of vehicle performance, reliability and durability our IAM customers benefit just as much from our close working relationships with OEMs as our OES customers."
