The 2017 International Engine of the Year honor has awarded for the second year to the Ferrari 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8, which features Sogefi oil filter module.

The engine that powers the 488 GTB488 Spider and the small size of the California T and GTC4 Lusso T, has received the International Engine of the Year Award along with the Performance Engine class and the 3-litre to 4-litre category.

The same Sogefi oil filtration technology has been applied to Ferrari’s naturally-aspirated 6.3-litre V12 engine, that powers the F12 berlinetta and F12 tdf, awarded in the above 4-litre category for the second year consecutively.

About the Award

Last June at the Engine Expo in Stuttgart, 58 journalist jurors from more than 31 countries decided the International Engine of the Year Award 2017.
The International Engine of the Year is an annual competition for automotive industry internal combustion engines, judged by a panel of automobile journalists from around the world. It is organized by UKIP Media & Events Automotive Magazines. The competition was started in 1999.
The award is determined by the panelists using "subjective driving impressions and technical knowledge, and took into account characteristics such as fuel economy, noise, smoothness, performance and drivability".
